The present... DRAMA
The drama of Beseech never ends and that´s one of the reasons for the new albums title "Drama” that exlplains much about what the new album are about. It´s a natural follower after the highly acclaimed album "Souls Highway” but with some major changes in the band, in the way of composing, both musically and lyrically.
After more than ten years in Beseech decided Klas Bohlin (guitar) to leave the band to focus on his new musical projects and that of course affected the way of composing and musically as we needed to work more as a team than ever to complete the "Drama” album. The music on "Drama” turned out to be more experimental, groovier, heavier than before but of course with the vein and emotions and varations in the music that is the hallmark of Beseech.
”Drama” will be released worldwide in the beginning of 2004 through Napalm Records.
From the beginning...
The history of Beseech begins in 1992 in their hometown Borås (near Gothenburg) in Sweden when a couple of guys talk ed about to form a band. Later that year was the first demotape recorded and since that have the band been deeply involved in the underground-scene and participated in various compilation CD´s through the years with the 3 demos that were released.
From a bleeding heart
In 1995 did Beseech sign the first recordeal We Bite/Corrosion Records and startet to record the first album "from a bleeding heart”. The music was atmospheric doom/death metal with instruments as cello, violin, piano with both male and female vocals not so usual at that time.
Unfortunately couldn´t We Bite/Corrosion Records release the album of economical reasons so after some struggle Beseech managed separate from the label and signed with Metalblade Records in 1998.
Metalblade released "from a bleeding heart” later that year, more than two years after the recording.
The delay of the release was not as the album fell "out of time” and it was hard for Beseech to focus on the "older” material, as new ideas grown in the band.
Shortly after the promotionperiod with much interviews from magazines and radiostations Beseech and Metalblade records decided to go separate ways.
Black Emotions & The tour
After spending some time negotiating with labels, Beseech signed a worldwide deal with Pavement Music.
In the end of 1999 Beseech began to record the 2nd album "Black emotions".
The music took a little different direction from the first albums doom/death oriented music to a more gothic style with more experimental parts and cleaner vocals but with the same spirit and atmosphere as before.
At the same time did Lotta Höglin (female singer) join Beseech and contributet with her strong and beutiful voice.
Black emotions were released in the middle of 2000 and the response was really good and recivied great reviews and were played on air alot. In 2001 did Beseech join the successfull tour across europe with Theatre of Tragedy, Lacuna Coil and gained alot of new fans and made a name in the metal scene.
Shortly after the tour did Jorgen Sjoberg (male singer of Beseech) leave the band of personal reasons and a new era of Beseech was to begin.
Movie soundtrack
Some songs from the album (Manmade Dreeams, Neon Ocean and Lunar Eclipse) were also feautered as soundtrack (with bands such as Entombed) to a B horror movie called "Alien Agenda 5 – Alien Conspirecy” by the Canadian movie company Brimstone Productions. The movie was relased in 2002.
Souls highway
The promotion of Black Emotions was really bad in many ways and the economic situation for Pavement Music was really instabil o many bands including Beseech did leave the label later in 2001.
At the same time did the new male singer Erik Molarin join the band and his majestatic voice felt really fresh and great with the contrast to Lotta Hoglin (female singer). After a demorecording with some new songs a search after a new label began.
After some negotiation with labels Beseech signed a worldwide deal with Napalm records and in the end of 2001 did the recording of "Souls Highway” began and were released in the middle of 2002. "Souls Highway” also got very good critics allover the world and recivied many awards "as among the best metal releases 2002” and was featured on big compilation CD´s in many countries. A video were released on the singletrack "Between the lines” in the end of 2002 through internet and got many downloads allover the world.
