Jurgen Kadel and Marcus Finger, the close-knit and versatile German producer team of Hacienda, have been exploring the world of electronic and acoustic music for over 10 years. The critics pushed them into the Lounge & Latin corner after their last two albums "Third Door Left" (2000, Infracom) and "This Very Moment" (2003, Ministry of Sound), in spite of the obvious influence of Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. Their fifth album "Skip & His Elephant" (2005, Ministry of Sound) sees them joyfully dive into the world of electronic club music while staying true to their roots. As Marcus Finger explains: "Currently we have settled at our electronic extremity where some of our tracks are allowed to sound askew."

More than 400 live gigs over the last five years have told them a lesson. Their fans are up for serious action and eager for hot parties. Relishing their new insight, Hacienda developed a new sound after performing with acts like Disco Boys, Moonbootica, T.Raumschmiere, Alter Ego, Phoneheads and Ellen Alien. "We fully immersed in the world of club music which at present we consider to be truly fascinating", says Jurgen Kadel. "Our gigs with the Disco Boys and our fruitful exchange with some guys from the Areal label have inspired us to favour a rather intuitive work approach."

Marcus Finger and Jürgen Kadel originally hailed from the 1990s progressive house scene in the area around Frankfurt. With their first album "Sunday Afternoon" (1996, Harthouse) they advanced to become the spearhead of the upcoming German Trip Hop scene. They received a warm gush of praise predominantly in the U.K. where they were celebrated as Germany's answer to Fila Brazila and Nightmares on Wax.
In 1998, they changed the label and released their second album "Narrowed Eyes" on Infracom. This album anticipated the NuJazz phenomenon (as it later was labeled) and offered a deep-laid mixture of electronic and acoustic elements. Finger and Kadel perfected their skilful combination on their third album "Third Door Left" (2000, Infracom) when they focused on including song structures and vocals. This album and the single release "Sabor" paved the way for international fame and recognition. "Sabor" turned into a successful international club hit which had the strongest impact in Turkey where it hogged the national radio for several months. Overseas Hacienda scored as well when "Late Lounge Lover" was chosen as soundtrack to the American Bacardi commercial.

Hacienda have been on tour in a great number of countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey and Japan. The band's abundant live experiences influenced the production of their fourth album "This Very Moment" (2003, Ministry of Sound) which represents the band's acoustic extremity and opposite pole of their latest rendition, the current album "Skip & His Elephant".

Today, Hacienda songs are featured on nearly 100 compilations among which you'll find such respected ones as Future Sound of Jazz (Compost), Brazilectro (Audiopharm), Berlin Lounge (Wagram), Chill Out Lounge (Sony/Warner), Clubber´s Guide to Ibiza and The Annual (both Ministry of Sound). With their club-oriented remixes they pushed Aromabar and Taxi to No.1 hits of the German Club Charts (DCC). Further proof of their versatility give their club mixes of Juli's "Geile Zeit" (hitting TopTen of Germany's sales charts) and Deladap's "Cza Manca" (Eccho Chamber).
Among their 400 live gigs were such renowned clubs as Maria am Ufer (Berlin), Mojo Club (Hamburg), Nachtcafé (Leipzig), Kinkamehameha (Frankfurt) and the Ritmo de Bacardi Open Air (Isle of Sylt, Sansibar).
