Composed of Pierre Emery and Gil Lesage, ULTRA ORANGE, rock’n’roll band, was born in the mid 90’s. After a first album in 1996, they are quickly noticed and encouraged by the media and will also be praised by those same media when their 2nd and 3rd albums are released (“Snow White” in 2001 and “Seven Loneley Girls” in 2003). Emmanuelle Seigner comes from the actors’ world, with a grand father at the Comedie Française and an husband director, Roman Polanski. She thus chose cinema as a career with a lot of success. Her greatest roles after her first movie with Godard (1984) : Frantic (1988), Lune de Fiel ( 1991), Place Vendôme (1998), La Neuvième porte (1999), Backstage (2005), La Môme (2007) In 2006, on the Palma Island, Emmanuelle is shooting a film on which Gil Lesage is working. Gil decides to have Pierre Emery come so that they can work together, with Emmanuelle, on writing some music. Their common musical culture, their shared pleasure in working together and their desire to continue this experience lead them to write one, then various titles. From Spain to France, without working in any studio before the final mix, they finally sign a very promising rock album whose first title will be the first single, “Sing sing”. Roger Moutenot, producer and mixer for Lou Reed, Yo la Tengo, Slitter Kinney, The Velvet Undergroud, will meet the new band Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle. via director Julian Schnabel (Emmanuelle has just finished shooting in his last movie : “The scaphander and the butterfly”) Enthusiastic by what he hears, he decides to go and mix the album in his city, Nashville. The record will be masterized in New York by Greg Galbi who worked on Ramones, Strokes or Bob Dyman’s albums. Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle will be on tour starting June 07.
