THE CHURCH

1980 was the founding year of the legendary and groundbreaking Australian band THE CHURCH. The sound from Sydney with its fusion of New Wave, Post Punk, Independent and Psychedelic Pop / Rock varied over the course of four decades of creative activity.

THE CHURCH achieved worldwide fame through their smash hits “Under The Milky Way” and “Reptile”. There are 24 published albums in their discography. Probably the best known album is the 80s classic "Starfish", followed by the groundbreaking albums "The Blurred Crusade" and "Priest = Aura".

THE CHURCH are still full of juice, have lost none of their creativity and joy in playing. In 2010 they were inducted into the Australian (ARIA) Hall Of Fame, and celebrated their 30th anniversary in the Sydney Opera with a large orchestra.
